'Free spirit' or Victim?

There is one inevitable, unavoidable question that springs to mind when the topic of Katie Prices boob job comes up for discussion, which one are you referring to? Should it be the first one when Katie, or Jordan as she was then known, began her career as a Sun 'page three' stunner?, and went from a 32B to 32C? Or the augmentations that followed to 'enhance' her profile that took her through 32DD to 32GG? Perhaps the breast reduction procedure in 2007, which she underwent following her marriage to Peter Andre, because as she told the media, 'Pete doesn't like big boobs'. Unfortunately this operation was less than successful and, instead of dropping the requested two cup sizes to a 32C; her surgeon reportedly 'botched' the procedure and could only take Katie to a 32F. Can we guess what happened next? Yes, in the summer of 2008, a corrective surgery was performed, this time taking the breasts to the desired 32C. Fast forward to autumn 2009, and following Katie and Peters acrimonious split, she found love in the arms of 'Cage Fighter' Alex Reid. Another man, another boob job, this time an augmentation back up to 32DD.

Where did it all start?

Filmmaker, Richard Macer has been following Katie's career right from the start, and has assembled 200 hours of footage detailing the 'highs' and 'lows' of her colourful life. During a documentary of his work, aired in 2009, we have a chilling insight into the characters of some of those who influenced Katie's early career. We see an image of Dr. Jeya Prakash, reportedly one of her former cosmetic surgeons, sitting at his desk displaying the first pair of implants he removed from Katie, prior to implanting her with a larger pair. Did he consider them as some sort of trophy or as a source of future revenue? Dr. Prakesh also expressed fears during Katie's stay in the jungle during ""I'm a Celebrity"" in 2004, that she could face injury if her implants were damaged during the experience, and even cautioned that 'they could explode' due to the soaring temperatures. Possibly hollow sentiment as he was responsible for the surgery which gave her the implants in the first place. Another interviewee was Samantha Bond, executive of the first model agency Katie signed to age 17. When asked if she thought Katie would have achieved the celebrity she had if she'd not had breast augmentation, she replied that she didn't think she had needed surgery anyway. Did she ever counsel Katie on that opinion? Would she have sought surgery if she felt she could attain success without it?

Unanswered Questions?

Katie is now with her new love, 26 year old Argentinian Leandro Penna, as is said to be considering further surgery to reduce her breasts to a 32D as he 'prefers a more natural look', and she is pursuing the possibility of a Playboy photo shoot and needs 'perkier boobs'.

So what should we conclude? Is she a victim of unscrupulous manipulation, a sufferer of Body Dysmorphic Disorder with cripplingly low self-esteem and a pitifully desperate need to please? Or is she a highly successful business woman with a £40 million empire who knows exactly what she wants and is determined to get it?
