How is the Surgery carried out

Breast enlargement using fat transfer is carried out by removing excess fat from other areas of the body and implanting it into the breast for the most 'natural' breast enlargement you can get surgically. Although there are many areas that fat can be removed from, for obvious reasons, many women opt to have the fat from either their stomach or thighs removed.

The procedure lasts approximately eight hours and is carried out under a General Anaesthetic. The surgery itself involves the removal of fat from the body using normal Liposuction techniques, insertion into and shaping of the breast and requires at least one overnight stay in hospital to aid recovery.

One of the main benefits of using fat transfer for breast enlargement is that it circumvents some of the issues that can arise when using artificial based implants, such as silicone, which can, over time or under certain conditions, morph in shape and solidify, resulting in the need to have corrective surgery.

It is also a more time intensive and complicated form of surgery and the increased cost reflects this. It is also not widely available with only a select number of surgeons qualified and able to perform the operation.

Fat Transfer breast enlargement will typically cost £8000-£10000 for straightforward surgery, compared to an average of £3500 for traditional methods. This includes the price of consultation (usually paid for upfront at around £120 and taken from the total cost once you go ahead), overnight stays and comprehensive aftercare.
