Liposuction Prices - Wet, Dry and Finance Information
Liposuction Prices
The build up of fat in certain areas of the human body often becomes very hard to get rid of even with vigorous exercise. Liposuction has allowed the removal of stubborn fat deposits that otherwise could take a great length of time to remove. Liposuction prices will vary according to how many and which areas need to be treated, the amount of fat to be removed, the type of anaesthetic, and the liposuction technique used and whether the patient is a man or a woman. The sex of the patient has an impact on the price because male fat is often harder to remove than females.
The liposuction procedure
During the liposuction procedure the surgeon will mark the areas to be treated with a pen and then make small incisions where the fat is to be removed from. A local anaesthetic is used for small areas and a general anaesthetic for large areas. Liposuction prices are affected by the type of anaesthetic used. Hollow tubes or cannulas will be inserted into the incisions and moved backwards and forwards to break up the fat cells. The dislodged fat cells will then be removed by a suction syringe or a vacuum pump. There are several different techniques used to assist with the removal of the fat deposits and the technique used will affect liposuction prices:
Dry liposuction – the traditional method mentioned above where the hollow tubes are worked forwards and backwards to loosen the fat cells. The fat cells are then siphoned away by suction syringe or vacuum pump. This technique can cause bleeding and bruising so it is not the most popular technique used at present.
Tumescent liposuction – requires little or no anaesthetic as a numbing fluid is injected into the tissue in the area of removal. This removes the need for any anaesthetic to be used unless the patient is extremely nervous when a mild sedative will be administered.
Wet liposuction – after the anaesthetic has begun to work, fluid is injected into the area to help with the breakdown of the fat for removal. The hollow tube or cannula is used to remove the fat cells.
Super wet liposuction – is the same as wet liposuction only less solution made form saline is injected with also helps to reduce swelling and bruising.
Liposuction finance
The price of liposuction can be financed in several ways. Most clinics offer interest free finance options to pay for liposuction costs. Liposuction prices can range between £2000 and £5000 and can be financed with payment plans spreading over several years. Flexible options are also available where early extra payments can be made and the loan settled in full if a lump sum of money becomes available.
